Summer Soundtrack

I love music. I  mean, who doesn't? Music makes me want to dance, helps get me energized and ready for the day, as well as making me feel happier overall. I bought the 3-month trial of Spotify Premium at the beginning of June, and now that it's almost over, I'm going to really miss it. I've been using the streaming service for awhile now, but ever since I got Premium, it makes me want to use it even more. A few of the extra features I like include the fact that I can skip songs as many times as I want without having to worry about commercials and also being able to download songs so I can listen to them offline aka on an airplane!

Pentatonix

Their whole album is available to stream on Spotify!

If you've never heard of Pentatonix, you need to change that ASAP! Or maybe you have and didn't even realize it! Okay, going on a rant here :) This musical quintet is one of the best out there. I don't know what the world would be like without this insanely talented acapella singing group! I'm so glad I found them, but I can't remember when, where, or even how I learned about their music. So, their Christmas album is SO GOOD. Trust me, you won't regret listening to it on repeat for the rest of the year (at least! There's never a bad time for Christmas music!). Their new album just came out Friday by the way, so check it out here! My four favorite songs are: Take Me Home, New Year's Day, Light In The Hallway, and Lean On. LOVE THEM! I cannot tell you the number of times I've (already) listened to them..#noshame. And to wrap up this (not an ad or sponsored, just an #obsessed fan) long basically a journal entry blog post, I (as a marketing major) have to say that I am so impressed with their marketing techniques! They engage their target audience through the use of social media, and post on their YouTube channel quite often. I read an article that describes more in detail how they utilize the resources available to them and I think it's really awesome! End rant.

Music To My Ears

I always listen to music when I study, and this year has been no exception.
Earlier this week, I couldn't stop listening to The Band Perry + Bastille. What a combination! :)
Taylor Swift is a given, and is always my go-to, no matter what I'm feeling.
Fun fact: I have every Taylor Swift CD, minus her Christmas album, on my phone.

The Band Perry:
I first heard of this band's unique sound in 9th grade when I listened to 'If I Die Young'. I've enjoyed listening to them ever since then. This sibling trio really know how to make music. They have songs that range from country to pop -- a little something for everyone.
If you listen to Don't Let Me Be Lonely and jump to Gentle On My Mind, then to their newly released single, Live Forever, you'll see what I'm talking about :)

Bastille:
I stumbled upon Bastille after hearing a few of their singles on the radio. I really like their sound and it doesn't hurt that they're British ;)
My favorite song of theirs is Flaws! I absolutely love this song, and their acoustic version is awesome! Also, I found their full show at Lowlands Music Festival on YouTube, so seeing them live is now on my bucket list!

I have so much work I need to complete..
BUT...Taylor Swift's new song 'Out Of The Woods' just came out! I've had it on replay since finding out it was released early, and NOT at midnight like she said!
